I am loving the prolonged Birthday celebration

Well, I have finally been able to get some photos of Birthday Day gifts that I have received over the past few months (my birthday is December 5th, but with all the Christmas hoopla, my birthday tends to get postponed!!)lol

Below is a darling pinkeep from Britt, I just love the little rabbit jumping over the 'R'. Thank you Britt.
This is the back of the pinkeep - great fabric and nice job finishing. Now this little pillow below is from Francoise, it looks like it might be a Merry Cox design!! Isn't it lovely - in case you may not know Francoise - she love the color pink!!
Here is the back of the little pillow, so nicely done -- Thank you Francoise!Below is a bag from Margaret - now Margaret is known for her bags and I am ever so excited that I was a recipient of one of them. She also made the wonderful accessories that match and go into the bag. Thank You Margaret - this was such a wonderful and lovely gift.

Another lovely friend - Diane - send me some thread and the mother-or-pearl rings in different colors, but they arrived near my birthday and I forgot to take a picture (sorry Diane), but the rings will be used in a finishing project hopefull in a few weeks and will mention them at that time.

Clare from the UK gift is at the post office as we write this. I received the notice last night, so I will pick it up this afternoon and will share with you all later.

Thanks for dropping in - and do sign up for the give away from the previous post.

Miss Penny

For Christmas, I received, from my children, Miss Penny. She is from Olde Colonial Designs and she is already dressed and ready to go. She is just waiting patiently for her apron to be stitched and for her little needle book to be stitched and finished.
She also has a little cap with lace that will cover her head properly. Miss Penny is really darling. I am so loving stitching up her apron, which is almost finished. But I wanted to share her with you. I will post her again when her apron, cap and needlebook are finished.

She comes in red dress or a blue dress. I am really not a blue person, but just love reds and cranberry color, in that my children did well.

Christmas Ornaments that are finished

One of the online groups I belong to is doing a monthly SAL on Christmas Ornaments. The goal is to at least stitch one ornament a month. I am trying to at least finish as I go.

Below is my January ornament it was a kit from Fern Ridge and it is a lamb and there were words on the design (BAA Humbug), but I left them off and made the design into a hanging biscornu. Below is the front (it was a beaded lamb/sheep) I love sheep and I also love hedghogs!!
This is the back. This ornament I had stitched a year ago Christmas and I finally finished it.
Here is the back - I found a package of rusted jingle bells so I thought it would look good on the ornament - what do you think?
This is my 3rd stitch of Tanya Anderson's The Sampler Girls design. This is a different pillow style then my previous finishes. Found the buttons at my quilt shop thought they added a nice touch.
And finally, I finished the fingerless mittens for my son. It was an interesting pattern, not sure I really liked it!! need to find another pattern. My daughter, niece and nephew need a pair!!!
Well, I am off to get some stitching done and to listen to my book on tape. Later this evening, my daughter, husband and I will watch Heroes. We are watching them on DVD and we are just finishing season 1. I know I am a bit behind!!!!

Hope you all are having a good week -- thanks for stopping by --- Roberta

Flower Designs

Hi all, haven't meant to be away for so long, but have been trying to get some "wip's" caught up.

I have so much to share so will try to post a little something each day this coming week.

Below are 2 designs I did at an Ikebana workshop here in Macon. The workshop was to help prepare the members for the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival at the end of March.

This design below is sitting in my 1/2 bath off the kitchen. So far the 3 cats haven't noticed it!!!The Ikebana guild decorates one of the historic home with flower arrangements during the festival. Unfortunately, I will be away, so I will not be able to put an arrangement in the house.
This arrangement (3 pictures) is sitting in the guest bathroom and again, no kitties have noticed it!!

Over the next few day, I will show some of the finishes I have done and some birthday presents that I have received (my birthday is in December) I just love how the birthday thing just goes on and on and on. I also had entered a blog give away and want to share what I received with you all so that is also coming up.

Today my new yard man started and I think I am going to really like him. He is very knowlegdeable and had some wonderful ideas to help enhance the yard even more that it already is. He is also very reasonably priced!!! My previous lawn man, was very nice, but really had no knowledge and was a bit pricey and didn't seem to do much when he came. Now I know it is winter - but I have an acre of land with lots of leaves and branches that need to be picked up and clear out the underbrush, part of the agreement to keep the lawn man employed during the winter.

My hydrangers are already budding as is the Cherry Blossom trees. Some of my camillias are looking OK, but they got a bit of frost bite from the cold from a week ago.

Well enought chatter --- Thanks for stopping by ------ Roberta
